Privacy Policy

Fura is designed with privacy in mind. Your pet care information belongs to you, and Fura is designed to keep that information on your device rather than requiring you to send it to us.
This Privacy Policy explains how Fura handles information when you use the Fura iOS app and its associated features, including widgets and supported Apple system integrations.
Overview
Fura is a pet care app that allows you to keep useful information about your pets together in one place.
Fura does not require you to create an account.
Your pet care records are stored locally by Fura and are not uploaded to a Fura-operated server. Fura does not operate a user account system or server-based database for your pet care records.
Information stored in Fura
You may choose to enter or store information in Fura, including:
- pet names and profile information;
- species, breed and birthday information;
- microchip and veterinary information;
- dietary requirements, feeding information and allergies;
- weight records;
- toilet tracking records;
- journal entries and memories;
- pet profile photos and journal photos you choose to add;
- medication information;
- vaccination information;
- reminder information associated with medications and vaccinations;
- preferences, such as your chosen weight unit; and
- an owner name, if you choose to provide one.
This information is provided by you for your own use within Fura.
How your information is stored
Fura stores your pet care records locally and does not upload them to a Fura-operated server.
Fura does not require an account and does not maintain a server-based copy of your pet care records.
Your device and operating system may provide backup, security or storage functionality. Depending on the Apple services and backup settings you choose to use, app data may be included in a device or system backup.
These services are controlled by you and the relevant platform provider rather than by Fura.
Photos
Fura allows you to choose photos for supported features, including pet profile photos and journal memories.
Fura only uses photos that you choose to add.
Access to photos is managed through Apple's system features and the permissions available on your device.
Photos stored by Fura remain part of Fura's locally stored app data unless you remove the relevant content, remove the pet, use Start Fresh, or the app data is otherwise removed.
Notifications
Fura can use local notifications to remind you about pet care information, including medications and upcoming vaccinations.
Notifications are optional and require permission through iOS.
When enabled, reminders are scheduled using Apple's notification system. Notification content may include pet care information such as a pet name, medication or vaccination information.
Depending on your device settings, this content may appear on your Lock Screen, in Notification Centre or in other notification surfaces provided by Apple.
You can manage Fura's notification permissions and notification preview settings through iOS.
Widgets
Fura provides widgets that can display selected pet care information without requiring you to open the main app.
To support these widgets, Fura shares the information needed by its app and widget extension using a private App Group on your device.
This allows Fura's widgets to access the local information they need to operate. Fura does not upload your pet care records to a Fura server in order to provide its widgets.
Information displayed in a widget may be visible on your Home Screen or other widget surfaces depending on where you choose to place the widget.
Shortcuts and Siri
Fura supports Apple system features such as Shortcuts and Siri for supported pet care actions.
If you choose to use these features, information needed to perform the requested action may be handled by Apple's system services.
Your use of Shortcuts, Siri and other Apple services is also subject to your device settings and Apple's own privacy practices.
Fura does not use these integrations to upload your pet care records to a Fura-operated server.
Analytics, advertising and tracking
Fura does not use your pet care information for advertising.
Fura does not track you across apps or websites owned by other companies for advertising or advertising measurement purposes.
Fura does not display third-party advertising.
Fura does not intentionally send your pet care records to third-party analytics or advertising services.
Data sharing
Fura does not sell your pet care information.
Fura does not share your pet care records with advertisers or data brokers.
Because Fura's pet care records are designed to remain locally stored, they are not transmitted to Fura for us to sell, analyse or use for advertising.
Information may be handled by Apple system services when you choose to use relevant operating system features, such as notifications, widgets, Shortcuts, Siri, photo selection or device backups.
Third-party and Apple services
Fura relies on features provided by Apple's platforms to provide parts of the app experience.
These may include:
- notifications;
- photo selection and photo permissions;
- widgets and app extensions;
- Shortcuts and Siri; and
- device or system backup functionality.
Your use of your Apple device and Apple services is subject to Apple's own privacy practices, policies and device settings.
Fura does not intentionally send your pet care records to third-party advertising or analytics services.
Data retention and deletion
Your Fura records remain stored locally until you choose to remove them or the app data is otherwise removed from your device.
You can delete individual records within Fura.
Deleting a pet removes that pet and their associated Fura records, locally stored profile photo and journal photos. Scheduled medication and vaccination reminders associated with that pet are also removed.
Fura also provides a Start Fresh option in Settings. Start Fresh removes your Fura pet care data, locally stored Fura photos, preferences and scheduled pet care reminders from the app.
Device or system backups are controlled separately by your device and backup provider. Removing information from Fura does not necessarily remove copies that may already exist within a device or system backup.
Because Fura does not require an account and does not maintain a server-based copy of your pet care records, there is no Fura account or server-held pet care record that you need to ask us to delete.
Security
Fura is designed to minimise the amount of information transmitted away from your device by keeping your pet care records locally rather than maintaining them in a Fura-operated account or server database.
The security of information stored on your device also depends on the security features and settings of your device and operating system.
We recommend keeping your device and iOS up to date and using the security features available on your device.
Your choices
You decide what information you add to Fura.
You can:
- choose whether to add optional pet care information;
- choose whether to add profile or journal photos;
- edit or delete records within Fura;
- delete individual pets and their associated Fura records;
- choose whether to enable medication or vaccination reminders;
- manage notification and photo permissions through iOS;
- choose whether to use widgets, Shortcuts or Siri; and
- use Start Fresh in Fura Settings to remove your Fura data from the app.
Children's privacy
Fura is a general pet care application and is not specifically directed at children.
Fura does not operate an account system through which we knowingly collect personal information from children.
App Tracking Transparency
Fura does not track you across apps or websites owned by other companies as defined by Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework.
Fura therefore does not request permission to track you for advertising purposes.
Changes to this Privacy Policy
Fura may update this Privacy Policy as the app develops.
If Fura's data practices change materially, this policy will be updated to reflect those changes. The effective date at the top of this page will show when the policy was last updated.
